Stepping Stones
Fear of heights? A series of training games called Stepping Stones and Plank Walking were developed for the RYSEN XR system. In these games, patients walk across planks, stepping stones, and other objects projected onto the floor. Thanks to the RYSEN's overhead bodyweight support, they can move freely through the virtual environment while staying physically safe in the real world. In these projects, we pushed the player's senses a step further by experimenting with depth perception. By tracking the player's position within the virtual world, we warped the camera output to create a convincing sense of depth on the flat projected surface. My responsibilities included technical art, environment creation, and overall style development, in addition to visual direction and game design.
